I can't decide if I like this video or not. Sunday the NOODS were canceled so I threw on my Atlantis gear, grabbed a GoPro and walked down to the water to see what hurricane Irene was up to. At one point while I was filming waves were breaking over the seawall and my head. Unfortunately, my iPhone didn't like the fact I did not zip up my jacket pocket. My iPhone sat in a bowl of rice for two days but could not be saved. A couple of weeks ago I was doing race committee for the Boston Yacht Club on the Half Way Rock line for the Marblehead NOOD Regattas. I brought my camera along and took a few images. Took a little ride on Shout last night. Shout is a Farr 40 and we sailed with a motley crew of 11. Winds were humming around 12-20. Nice breeze. We took a first.

I crewed on Denali for the Marblehead to Halifax Race and what a fast ride it was. We were 4th over the line out of a fleet of 89 boats and had a finish time just under 36 hours. Unfortunately, our killer rating knocked us down to 12th place in IRC. The three boats in front of us beat the 1989 record of 33:29 set by Starlight Express in a Santa Cruz 70. Bella PITA shattered the record with a time of 30:46. Canada's own Valkyrie had a time of 31:50 and corrected over Bella PITA for first place. As well as crewing, I was shooting a spread for SAIL Magazine and footage for ESPN and Gary Jobson for a special airing in November.
