On my way south....

Image
Just a few random images from yesterday and this morning. I’m in the Yukon now. Yesterday was a great ride from Anchorage...so great I took the top down. Also switched the cheap China turn signal lights back to the OEMs. Left one kept failing. Last night I slept under the stars about 30 miles from the Canada border but got caught in a little bit of a shower and had to put the roof back up kind of quickly. Plan today is to make my way to Haines Junction and than maybe Whitehorse. #missionforhope #seattleorbust

More than a stream...

A bit more than a steam but you get the picture.

Seattle Or Bust

Image
Monday morning I’m leaving Anchorage for Seattle. I have outreach scheduled for August 3rd at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. So 12 days to get there. Most of my time will be spent driving through BC. I may take a quick detour west to Stewart, AK. These are some images from Wednesday’s adventure on the Stampede Trail and today’s little drive south towards Whitter. I had the time to go to Whittier today but didn’t want to spend the money for the tunnel toll. I wanted to go to Seward & Valdez too but no money in the fuel budget for the extra travel.

Please pray for the homeless in Anchorage

Image
Today’s outreach in Anchorage was a tough one for me. So much sadness in the faces of the guests at Bean’s. I cried driving out of the parking lot and continue to weep this afternoon. Reminded me of the faces I saw in Kolkata, India on my first mission trip 4 years ago. We started off the morning by volunteering in the kitchen for a few hours. Then we brought out the hygiene kits and blankets my volunteers and Beantown Blankets  shipped to the shelter. My Jeep friends brought clothes, sleeping bags water, Gatorade and freshly baked muffins and cookies. We set up to give them out and the line was across the parking lot. Unfortunately, we ran out of everything and there were still close to 50 people inline. My heart sunk. Afterwards I blessed Dee’s Jeep and barely made it through the prayer. The sadness I saw today hit me hard. Please keep the homeless in Anchorage in your prayers. Thank you so much my Jeep friend who came and gave their time and hearts!! Mary, her husband and mother dro

Underneath All That Dirt

Image
Look what I found underneath all that dirt! Arrived in Anchorage safely. Since Denver I spent 19 nights in her. Cooked most of my meals in her. Close to 4,000 miles. 19 morning devotional. 4 church services. 3 outreaches. 5 showers. Laundry twice. Outreach at Bean’s in Anchorage Saturday. #missionforhope #jeeps #jeepers #givingback #helpingthehomeless

Watch me bit my lip...

Trying to enjoy a little trail time before heading to Anchorage for next outreach stop. More of a creek than a trail.   https://youtu.be/tq97cKgXvPA
