A Cross on a Ridge

Image
Found this cross on Flint Ridge in Klamath, CA Wednesday. Spent some time in prayer around the cross thanking God for His blessings on my mission trip so far.  He has guided and protected me every mile. “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared.” Exodus 23:20 NIV #missionforhope #jeeps #jeepers #givingback #helpingthehomeless

The Streets of San Francisco

Image
Hitting the streets of San Francisco a bit early today. No Walmarts in the area so did my shopping at Target last night. Put a breakfast bar in every hygiene kit. Going to the Glide to hopefully give out stuff after their community breakfast. Please keep us in prayer today. Thank you! 🙏 🚙 #missionforhope #jeepers #jeeps #givingback #helpingthehomeless

Tim & Gary

Wednesday I was coming out of a market in North Bend, OR after filling up on some soda and a gentleman stopped me in the parking lot and asked me what “Mission For Hope” was. I gave him the run down and he asked me if I was a veteran. I told home no but my son was a Marine. Tim said he was and he was in the army and he served in the Vietnam War. I thanked him for his service. We talked a bit about Vietnam and him coming home afterwards and how bad it was. Worse then being in Vietnam he said.  I asked him if he wanted the New Testament on a Bible stick. He said no because he had a Bible and was saved 35 years ago. Tim shared his testimony and I shared my testimony about coming to Christ because of Angie Miller and American Idol. He got a kick out of my testimony.  Tim mentioned to me that he was helping a local homeless man named Gary once and a while. He told me he wanted to share the Gospel with him but was waiting for the right time. I told him the time is now. I suggested he shou

Yelling behind my Jeep!

Image
Tuesday night I grabbed a campsite at a  good size state park on the coast of Oregon. I woke up early Wednesday morning because a boy was yelling pretty loudly behind my Jeep. He yelled to his brother or buddy, “Turnaround! Turnaround! Look at this!” He continued, “This guy drives around and gives food to homeless people! That is so cool!”   What a way to start of my day and encourage me! If I was totally awake I would’ve got out of my Jeep and given them a couple of my toy Jeeps.  When I first started this trip a couple months ago somebody on Facebook who didn’t know everything about my mission trip questioned how I can make people aware of homelessness by driving across the country in an expensive Jeep.  Question answered I guess.  When I’m driving down the road I get so many thumbs up.  People in parking lots and at gas stations stop at my Jeep and asked me about my mission. Last night a gentleman came by my campsite and we discussed the homeless situation in the North West. He c

Blessed & busy weekend in Portland, OR

Image
Saturday’s outreach in Portland, OR was sad and eye opening. I needed to digest it all for a few days before posting anything about it. Friday night I did some research about were the community meals were going to be Saturday afternoon. I’ve always found before or after community meals are a good time and a good place to do outreach.   I went to the Blanchet House in downtown Portland and parked on the street on the side of the building. They were just finishing up lunch. I went inside and told one of the staff members that I had hygiene kits, blankets and food in my Jeep. He told me it would fine if I gave out the stuff from my Jeep were it was on the street.  There were a few people already on the sidewalk near my Jeep. There was a lady a sleep on the sidewalk not to far from my Jeep. As soon as I opened up the back my my Jeep people gathered around quickly. While I was giving out stuff I met a family of four living in their car. I gave them blankets, hygiene kits, water and
