Seattle Or Bust

Monday morning I’m leaving Anchorage for Seattle. I have outreach scheduled for August 3rd at Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission. So 12 days to get there. Most of my time will be spent driving through BC. I may take a quick detour west to Stewart, AK. These are some images from Wednesday’s adventure on the Stampede Trail and today’s little drive south towards Whitter. I had the time to go to Whittier today but didn’t want to spend the money for the tunnel toll. I wanted to go to Seward & Valdez too but no money in the fuel budget for the extra travel.

Mission Accomplished!

  Yesterday I arrived in Dar Salaam, Tanzania and last night the car rental agency picked up the Land Cruiser. I’m not going to lie, it was a great relief when they picked it up. I didn’t post all the issues I had with the Land Cruiser, but they included replacing the clutch twice, replacing both batteries, thr spare tire rim and various issues with the electrical system, stove, bulbs, door latches, windows and tire leaks.  Although I spent a lot of time working on repairs of the Land Cruiser, I couldn’t imagine doing the trip in any other vehicle because of the very poor roads in Kenya and Tanzania. The Land Cruiser was an absolute beast, everybody knows how to fix them and parts are readily available. In 28 days, I drove 9,924 km, visited 7 churches, 5 wells, 3 schools, 2 orphanages, 1 clinic and gave out 200 storybook bibles. (Although, 13 of the storybook bibles were given to 8 Tanzanian Police Officers instead of the cash they requested.) I also shared a message at 3 chur...

#1 Team in Phoenix!

Saturday Mission For Hope partnered with Radiant Church and local Jeepers to hand out blankets, hygiene kids, water, food, Bibles and prayer to the homeless in the Phoenix area. Such a blessing to serve along side such committed believers to minister to the poor in Phoenix.

More campgrounds...

Got here about 10:30 last night after messing around on some very rutty muddy trails I never should have been on considering how low my Jeep is sitting now. My original plan was to go off grid a bit between cities. Last night I decided to change that plan a bit and stay at campgrounds when I can.  It’s going to change my budget a bit but I can’t meet people in the middle of now where. This morning I prayed  with Char at the campground after she shared her testimonies of how good God has been to her and how she survived Polio as a child. Char works part time at the campground and lost her husband four years and still considers herself very blessed and in God’s favor.
