I’m sitting on a bench at the Beverly train station. I just came back from a meeting of the Massachusetts Coalition For The Homeless in Boston. The MCFTH is s non-profit with thirteen employees, have six programs that help the homeless and a annual budget of close to $2 million.  They are trying to push through a dozen state bills to help the homeless and about $3.1 billion in state programs to help close to 20,000 people in Massachusetts that are experiencing homelessness. There were about two dozen folks at the meeting discussing the bills and budget and what can be done to get them passed.  After getting off the train in Beverly I planted myself on a bench to finish reading an article in the Washington Post about a homeless couple in DC. How every other week they are faced with uncertainty if their home, a tent, will be removed and discarded by city workers. For the most part I will be camping in National Forests between the cities I will be visiting. I have been doing practice trips since last fall. (http://www.youtube.com/leightonoc) Many people who follow my travels on social media have suggested I get a winch on my front bumper since I am doing this kind of stuff alone. People have also suggested better bumpers and better tires. Since the budget for my trip is quite high already and not fully funded yet, I have reached out to several Jeep equipment manufactures and suppliers suggesting sponsorships in-trade for the gear. I have had no luck forming any partnerships yet. If anybody has any connections with any off road manufactures or suppliers, please let me know. Thank you! 

2 months, 2 weeks & 1 day before my departure on June 9th for a 200 day trip across the US that will take me to 30 cities which have highest population of people experiencing homelessness. Planning is going amazingly well and the Jeep communities in each city have some amazing things planned for the Saturdays we will be doing outreach.
